Though the State of Odisha has a decent literacy rate the literacy rates among the women and among the SCs is quite low. Drop-out among this section of the population is quite high. They need motivation to go back to the school.
Though the State of Odisha has a decent literacy rate the literacy rates among the women and among the SCs is quite low. Drop-out among this section of the population is quite high. They need motivation to go back to the school. In order to do that a campaign called “BACK TO SCHOOL” program was launched. Under this program extensive campaign was launched to urge the children as well as the parents to send their children to school. Teachers were also involved in the program to make the program more effective. A night school is being run by the organization at village specifically for the working children who go to work during day time. Around 30 children are taught by the volunteers of the organization.
The adult education is must in the rural areas of state of Odisha. Till the time the adults will not be aware of the advantage of education this problem will not be solved. It may be children leaving school or girls not going for education. Proper awareness is required amongst the adults and they should be properly motivated to send their kids for education. MTSERF is doing research and finding out a proper solution to solve this problem.
